Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about CS2Locker, trade ups, and our tools.
Trade Up Contracts
What is a CS2 trade up contract?
A trade up contract in Counter-Strike 2 allows you to trade skins of the same rarity tier for one skin of the next highest tier. For most rarities, you need 10 input skins. For Covert (red) to Knife/Glove trade ups, you only need 5 skins. The outcome is influenced by the float values and collections of the input skins.
Can I trade up Covert (red) skins to knives?
Yes! Since October 2025, you can trade up 5 Covert (red) skins to receive a Knife or Glove. The input skins must be from cases that contain knives/gloves. StatTrak Covert skins will result in a StatTrak knife. This is one of the most exciting ways to potentially get expensive knives!
How does the CS2Locker trade up calculator work?
Our calculator uses the official CS2 trade up formula, factoring in the float values and collections of your input skins to provide accurate outcome predictions. It calculates the probability of each possible outcome, including knife/glove trade ups, and helps you find profitable opportunities.
What is a reverse trade up?
The reverse trade up tool lets you select a desired skin (including knives and gloves), and it will show you all the possible combinations of input skins required to obtain it through a trade up contract. This is great for targeting specific high-value items like Ruby Doppler knives or the AWP Dragon Lore.
Can I use skins from different collections in a trade up?
Yes, you can mix skins from different collections or cases. The outcome skin will be randomly chosen from the collections of the input skins you used, weighted by the number of skins from each collection. For knife/glove trade ups, all inputs must be from cases that contain gold items.
What is the "float value" of a skin?
The float value is a number between 0 and 1 that determines the wear condition of a CS2 skin. A lower float value means a cleaner, less scratched skin (Factory New: 0.00-0.07), while a higher float value indicates more wear (Battle-Scarred: 0.45-1.00). Float values are crucial in trade up contracts as they affect the outcome skin's float.
